The University of the Philippines Cebu will host the Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP) 2025 Annual Conference on November 13–15, 2025, with the theme “Reimagining Gender: Beyond the Discourse of Development and Localization.”
The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on August 8, 2025, at UP Cebu by WSAP Chairperson Melanie M. Reyes, DSD, and UP Cebu Chancellor Atty. Leo B. Malagar, with witnesses from both parties present.
WSAP aims to introduce and strengthen women’s and gender studies in Philippine education, conduct training, develop curriculum and instructional resources, and build a network of Philippine scholars in the field.
UP Cebu sees the annual conference as an opportunity to advance its mission of providing excellent curricular programs, transdisciplinary research, and responsive extension services that contribute to knowledge production, social development, and economic advancement in the region.
