UP Cebu’s Team SRP Lines claimed the championship title at CEB-I Hacks, a student-led innovation challenge focused on developing digital solutions for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, last January 24.
Organized by MCIA-ACAC, CEB-I Hacks aims to nurture young innovators and transform fresh ideas into real airport solutions. The event attracted 87 teams composed of 448 students from 11 schools and universities across Cebu. From this pool, a Top 25 consisting of 113 students from five universities advanced to an intensive mentorship phase, where participants refined their concepts through collaboration and expert guidance. These efforts culminated in the final pitch, where only ten teams advanced to present their solutions.
Representing UP Cebu, Team SRP Lines claimed the championship with their project Nofy, which stood out for its creativity, functionality, and relevance to airport operations. The team is composed of Tiffany Trisha Lalata, Cielo Louise Habalo, Jecer Egagamao, Jan Krishnel Abuyo, and Gian Marco De la Cruz, under the guidance of their adviser, Gabriel Awatin.
UP Cebu also recorded a strong showing beyond the championship win. CeSAVY earned the Second Runner-up award for their project SaBAI, while several other UP Cebu teams reached the final stage of the competition. These include katsAI, Lakwatsa(AI)ros, and Team BugsAI, all of which were recognized among the Top 10 finalists.
