Faculty from the Department of Computer Science gathered at the Interactive Learning Center (ILC) for syllabi cliniquing, while the Physical Education Program met at AVR 1 for a series of inputs during the second round of FACETS (Faculty Advancement through Curriculum Enhancement and Training for Syllabi) on November 19, 2025.

The parallel sessions provided faculty the opportunity to share current practices, discuss challenges, and address the diverse needs of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) syllabi, particularly in aligning program learning outcomes with course design.

The second round featured talks by Asst. Prof. Sean L. Policarpio, who continued discussions on OBE; Assoc. Prof. Mary Gretchen F. Chaves, who emphasized documentation and quality assurance; and Asst. Prof. Magnolia A. Laus, who guided faculty in designing effective assessments. Participants stressed the importance of horizontal alignment across rationale, mission, vision, program learning outcomes, course outcomes, teaching-learning activities, and assessments. While organizing OBE syllabi can be challenging at first, faculty acknowledged that it ultimately streamlines teaching and ensures that learning objectives are effectively met.

With two more training days ahead to revise syllabi and apply the insights gained, the FACETS initiative continues to advance faculty development and strengthen curriculum quality at UP Cebu.
