The 49th José Joya Awards was held on November 12, celebrating the outstanding creative achievements of UP Cebu Fine Arts students and continuing its longstanding role in recognizing emerging excellence in the visual arts.

The event is sustained through the collective efforts of the Fine Arts students and faculty, the generosity of institutional partners and sponsors, and the enduring support of the Joya Family, whose stewardship has been integral to the awards’ legacy.

The following students were recognized as this year’s awardees:
1st Place: Phil Angelo Sevilla (What Remains)
2nd Place: Johannes Paul Ungria (Way Balos)

3rd Place: Ian Bless Miguel Gilbolingo (Red Horse imo mata)

The awards likewise recognized Dwayne Canoy, Geremie Tubo, Dorothy Ouan, Vince Tesing, Jasper Villacin, Rhou Ann Lopez, and Samantha N. Sanchez as finalists, and Frootbytes, Annalyn Labra, Micah Albert C. Elcamel, Aaliyah Fe B. Domado, Erwyn Yu Jr., Sholaicah Manatad, Johnna Christelle Revalde, Tiane, Agnes Zoe, and Marc Cabatbat as semi-finalists.
