Cebu City – The University of the Philippines Cebu Health Services Unit has been officially accredited as a PhilHealth Konsulta Package provider, becoming the first state university or college (SUC) in the Visayas to earn this recognition on July 14, 2025 at the UP Cebu AVR-1.
The accreditation was formally awarded in a ceremonial turnover on campus, accompanied by an orientation session led by officers from PhilHealth Region 7. The session outlined the scope, requirements, and procedures for delivering Konsulta services at UP Cebu.
PhilHealth’s Konsulta (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) Package is an outpatient benefit program under the Universal Health Care Law. It supports access to essential health services aimed at promoting health, identifying risks early, and ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment.
All Filipinos and their qualified dependents can avail of Konsulta benefits. At UP Cebu, this means that students and employees may access these services and may also register family members as dependents, subject to eligibility requirements.
As part of the rollout, PhilHealth Region 7 also assisted with on-site registration for UP Cebu employees and students during the event, helping ensure broader and easier access to the Konsulta package in the university community.
