BS Computer Science students from the University of the Philippines Cebu emerged as the national champions of GCash ImaGnation 2026, besting student teams from universities across the Philippines in the three-day innovation challenge.
Team Culay, composed of Christian Brillos, Berk Stephen Cutamora, Joanalyn Cadampog, Jezreel Chad Lumbab, and Jimmy Mijares, took the top spot after presenting and defending their proposed business solution before GCash leaders and a panel of judges.
The competition brought together student teams from across the country for three days of collaboration, problem-solving, and solution-building. This year’s challenge centered on developing innovative solutions that could help address the needs of Filipino entrepreneurs.
As the winning team, Team Culay received a ₱75,000 cash prize, with each member also receiving a gadget as part of the competition’s prizes.
For the team, the win adds another achievement to their experience in student innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, building on their participation in other national-level challenges.
