The Mohon Christian Residents Association, Inc. formally recognized the University of the Philippines Cebu as the owner of properties in Talisay City through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with UP Cebu on September 10, 2026, at the UP Cebu AVR-1.

The properties covered by the agreement are TCT Nos. T-37067 to T-37078, covering Lot Nos. 31256-B, 3125, 3117, 3121, 3122, 3123, 3127, 3128, 3119, 3118, 3116, and 3115.

As part of the agreement, UP Cebu designated the Mohon Christian Residents Association, Inc. as its community-based Property Custodian and Steward, with a role in assisting the University in protecting and preserving the properties. The designation is administrative and functional and does not confer ownership or other real rights over the properties to the association.

The MOA follows UP Cebu’s continuing engagement with occupants of its Talisay properties. On July 27, 2025, the UP Cebu Administration engaged property occupants regarding the University’s plans for the area, followed by a public consultation in August 2025.

The agreement provides a formal framework for the association’s role in the stewardship of the University-owned properties as UP Cebu continues its engagement with stakeholders in the Talisay site.
