Tubô Cebu Art Fair 2026 officially opened yesterday, August 28, at Ayala Center Cebu, bringing together a vibrant collection of works that reflect the breadth, character, and continuing growth of Cebuano art.
This year’s fair, curated by UP Cebu College of Communication, Art, and Design faculty member and Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts coordinator Asst. Prof. Jay Nathan Jore, gathers artists from across Cebu under the theme “Resonance.” Through diverse styles, perspectives, and generations of artists, the fair invites the public to encounter the stories, memories, and cultural experiences that continue to shape Cebuano creative expression.
Joining the opening celebration were UP Cebu Chancellor Atty. Leo B. Malagar, faculty and staff, alumni, and student artists, whose works are featured at the fair’s Joya Gallery booth, adding another chapter to UP Cebu’s continuing contribution to Cebu’s vibrant art community.
In his opening remarks, Asst. Prof. Jore reflected on tubô, the Cebuano word for growth, and how the fair embodies the ways Cebuano art continues to flourish through collaboration, connection, and a shared appreciation of local identity.
More than a showcase of artworks, Tubô Cebu Art Fair 2026 is a celebration of the people, stories, and creative traditions that make Cebuano art resonate, across generations and with audiences beyond the gallery.
