The University of the Philippines Cebu welcomed representatives from Appalachian State University on March 12, 2026 for an academic meeting with the College of Communication, Art, and Design and the School of Management.
The visiting delegation included Trish Oxford (Special Faculty), Cristy Cook (Senior Special Faculty), and Lubna Afees, PhD (Director of the Digital Marketing Program). The discussion focused on areas where both institutions can work together, particularly in digital marketing, supply chain management, and furniture design and marketing, as well as opportunities for student exchange, joint research, and faculty-led initiatives.
Representing UP Cebu in the meeting were CCAD Dean Crina Tañongon, SOM Dean Marie Jane Matero, Dr. Vincent Crist Lipayo, MBA Coordinator Lyndon Carlos Ogoc, Fine Arts Product Design faculty members Assistant Professor Lionel Sanchez and Assistant Professor AJ Mallari, and Office of International Linkages Coordinator Adrian Francis Carredo.
The visit set the groundwork for future collaboration, with both institutions expressing interest in developing programs that support academic exchange and interdisciplinary learning.
